AVP Youth Basic Workshop
November 2 – 4
Kathmandu, Nepal

This is an opportunity to participate on a facilitator team for an AVP Basic workshop with Nepali youth. This workshop will be held in English. If you are interested in sharing your experience of AVP with young people, this is the workshop for you.
Approximate cost to participate in this activity: US$165 total cost per person (accommodation, meals, workshop)

Trauma Healing Workshop
November 2 – 4
Kathmandu, Nepal

In human life, at least once in our life, we will suffer traumatic experiences. People may live in unstable situations. Trauma often stays in the brain as a picture. This workshop offers a good process for all people who are suffering from trauma. The workshop processes their traumatic experience in a positive way.
Participants need to be stable in their lives. This is an opportunity to learn about trauma and healing techniques.
The purposes of this workshop are to:
– Gain an understanding of trauma.
– Learn trauma healing tools/techniques to create safe space and face traumatic events.
– Rebuild social relationships and trust.
– Learn to be a companion to others healing from trauma.

A Special First Friday Gathering

Descripción: AVP facilitators are invited to meet locals and share experiences at the AVP Sydney support group on Friday 17 November from 5pm to 9:30pm. This gathering of AVP facilitators, workshop graduates and potential participants has been meeting on the First Friday of every month (except January) since 2001. The get-to-know-you circle is followed by a shared meal and a mini AVP session.

Asia West Pacific Regional Training Gathering
January 5-11, 2018
Perth, Australia

A 6 day live in training gathering for the sharing of ideas and reports from the World Gathering as well as from each AVP group. One afternoon will be spent at Acacia prison with our inmate facilitators. Other program ideas include HIPP for primary schools and the youth program for high schools. Suggestions and offers to lead other sessions welcome. We invite AVP facilitators from the Asia West Pacific Region as well as other countries to join Australian facilitators.

Tour Summary
Day 1 Pick-up from Kathmandu airport on arrival; visit old town Kathmandu and Thamel as time permits.
Day 2 Sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley; Durbar Square in Patan, Buddhist Stupa and Hindu Temple; Hindu cremation ritual.
Day 3 After breakfast, travel to Pokhara (7 hour drive); late afternoon stroll along the lake.
Day 4 Short drive to Sarangkot Hill to see the sun rise over the Annapurna range; boat trip after breakfast on Fewa Lake; hike uphill to the Peace Stupa with a view of the Pokhara valley, Fewa Lake and the Annapurna range; typical Nepalese folk dances and music in the evening.
Day 5 After breakfast, travel to Chitwan National Park (5 ½ hour drive); village tour to experience the “Tharu” ethnic tribe way of life; visit the elephant breeding centre; typical Tharu folk dances and music in the evening.
Day 6 Jungle activities; canoe trip on the Rapti River to see the crocodiles; jungle walk with an experienced nature guide; watch elephants bathe; jungle safari tour riding on an elephant into the Chitwan jungle where you might see a Bengal tiger or Indian rhinoceros.
Day 7 Return to Kathmandu (6-7 hour drive).
Day 8 Explore narrow market streets, temples; Buddhist Stupa Baudhanath; old city of Bhaktapur; Nagarkot.
Day 9 Travel to Park Village Hotel.
